That's a WRAP People! CMF 2010-2011 Tour Ends Strong.
It’s been an incredible year for CMF and the 75,000 student participants during the 2010-2011 CMF World Tour. We just finished our last school finale after touring the country, tirelessly visiting over 60 college campuses across the US and Mexico.
You can now see over 10,000 short movies online, showcasing the immense talent and tenacity shown by students who take one week — despite classes, studying, jobs, and who knows what else — to share their stories with the world. Read more about the 2010-2011 CMF World Tour here!

Despite a very rainy movie-making week in Bloomington Indiana, IU students were determined to get out and film their 5 minute masterpieces. And plenty of them did just that. With over 130 teams signed up, this has been the largest CMF turnout at IU.
The judges will have their hands full this year and no doubt the finale will be packed with excellent top films. If you’re in Bloomington, you won’t want to miss it. Check it out on Sunday, 6pm at the Buskirk Chumley Theatre.

The Film Festival is the newest addition to the Arnold Sports Festival and featured short films dedicated to sports and athletes. Independent producers ranged from high school students to international professionals.
Schwarzenegger said the Film Festival is a way to motivate people and inspire them. It shows anyone can accomplish anything. The key is “never, ever give up.”
It’s not everyday that you get the chance to sit down with a Pirate… Judy Lee from the CMF team was particularly nervous this dark and stormy night when she had the opportunity to talk to Ian McShane about his career path and his plans for the future. Read his interview and even catch an exclusive video of Blackbeard himself telling some of his story on Pirates 4.
Spotlight Programming Board, Cinefest, and our ATL crew are excited that 2011 is proving to be another memorable year for CMF at Georgia State University. With a consistently growing student participation of over 1000, everyone is eager to see the top films made.
(from GSU University relations) Reid Stegall and John Merizalde were among more than 100 aspiring filmmakers in line to pick up video cameras, microphones and laptop computers at Georgia State University last Wednesday.
"It’s a really hectic week, but it’s also really fun to see what type of movies that people can make in a week and there are some really good films that are made,” said Stegall, a senior film major, who has been participating in the MovieFest for four years. Check out the rest of the article.
University of Alabama Rolls! CMF launch concludes with record breaking numbers…
It was a special day in Tuscaloosa and the University of Alabama Campus MovieFest is off to a record breaking start this year. Over 100 teams (870 students and growing every day) signed up for this year’s event. The promotional effort was a partnership between our very own satellite team - Mat, Ann, Branden, Matt, J.R - and the awesome Ferguson Center crew headed by Kelli Knox-Hall. The team couldn’t be happier with the increased response and look forward to a huge finale. Roll Tide…
Arguably the coolest thing the CMF team has gotten to do in a long time is fight about what questions to ask one of greatest and most well respected actors ever. From his acting path to his take on the Industry as it is today, this is a true treat to anyone who’s seen a movie in the last decade.

in 2008, It was awesome to be able to provide each CMF team with a much anticipated upgrade… HD cameras. It took a while but we finally caught up to HD and now we’re not wasting any time leading in the world of 3D. We’ve just recently graciously accepted delivery on a fleet of brand new Panasonic HDC-SDT750’s for our students to try and we’re excited to see the results. Starting with our CMF Distinguished Filmmakers Network, we’re putting the cameras in the hands of the best young movie makers across the US. Check out more and updates on our CMF in 3D page.
