CMF brings 30+ students to the Cannes Film Festival
CMF is once again onsite at the 2011 Cannes International Film Festival in the South of France where we are sharing 30 of the top CMF movies at the Cannes Short Film Corner. These movies will be available in a digital library reaching thousands of festival goers from around the world. Students will be walking the red carpet to watch major movie premieres, interviewing celebrities and filmmakers, and enjoying the company of film lovers from across the globe. If you’re attending the Cannes Film Festival we encourage you to stop by the CMF booth at the Short Film Corner located inside the Palais.

That's a WRAP People! CMF 2010-2011 Tour Ends Strong.
It’s been an incredible year for CMF and the 75,000 student participants during the 2010-2011 CMF World Tour. We just finished our last school finale after touring the country, tirelessly visiting over 60 college campuses across the US and Mexico.
You can now see over 10,000 short movies online, showcasing the immense talent and tenacity shown by students who take one week — despite classes, studying, jobs, and who knows what else — to share their stories with the world. Read more about the 2010-2011 CMF World Tour here!
Eastern Connecticut University CMF Finale PACKED!!!
In just it’s 2nd year participating in CMF, Eastern Connecticut University - and it’s participating students - is showing that they are serious about making great movies. And making a lot of them.
With double the amount of submitted movies, everyone agreed to find a larger venue to house the red carpet finale. Even so, ECU students more then doubled the attendance from last year. CMF staffers were happy to add more chairs! Check out all the photos here
CMF's Top ATL films to screen at Atlanta Film Festival on May 7th
CMF is proud to partner with the Atlanta Film Festival. We’ll be screening the top films from the Atlanta area created for CMF this year followed by Q&A with the filmmakers. We’ll also have some great door prizes to give away including iPod’s and other Apple gear!
Today marks the final week of movie making for the 2010-2011 Campus MovieFest world tour. On Wednesday April 20th, we’ll collect the last set of movies at Eastern Connecticut University! Take a quick look at the busy tour schedule of our New York tour as everything wraps up here.
Despite a very rainy movie-making week in Bloomington Indiana, IU students were determined to get out and film their 5 minute masterpieces. And plenty of them did just that. With over 130 teams signed up, this has been the largest CMF turnout at IU.
The judges will have their hands full this year and no doubt the finale will be packed with excellent top films. If you’re in Bloomington, you won’t want to miss it. Check it out on Sunday, 6pm at the Buskirk Chumley Theatre.
We’re excited to be bringing this years CMF International Grand Finale to Hollywood. We’ve got an incredible weekend lined up with opportunities with industry luminaries, a chance to see top student movies on studio lots, an incredible awards ceremony at Warner Bros, and more! The Film Festival is the newest addition to the Arnold Sports Festival and featured short films dedicated to sports and athletes. Independent producers ranged from high school students to international professionals.
Schwarzenegger said the Film Festival is a way to motivate people and inspire them. It shows anyone can accomplish anything. The key is “never, ever give up.”
It’s not everyday that you get the chance to sit down with a Pirate… Judy Lee from the CMF team was particularly nervous this dark and stormy night when she had the opportunity to talk to Ian McShane about his career path and his plans for the future. Spotlight Programming Board, Cinefest, and our ATL crew are excited that 2011 is proving to be another memorable year for CMF at Georgia State University. With a consistently growing student participation of over 1000, everyone is eager to see the top films made.
(from GSU University relations) Reid Stegall and John Merizalde were among more than 100 aspiring filmmakers in line to pick up video cameras, microphones and laptop computers at Georgia State University last Wednesday.
"It’s a really hectic week, but it’s also really fun to see what type of movies that people can make in a week and there are some really good films that are made,” said Stegall, a senior film major, who has been participating in the MovieFest for four years. Check out the rest of the article.
