The CMF Distinguished Filmmakers Network (DFN) and Lenovo have launched the “Seize the Night” Alternate Ending Challenge. DFN members produced alternate endings to Lenovo’s short “Seize the Night” video (beginning around when the enter button is pushed on the Ultrabook). The alternate ending with the most views by September 9 wins US $15,000. Check them out!

Wally Pfister on The Dark Knight Rises at CMF Hollywood 2012

Wally Pfister talks about the philosophy of cinematography and how he used it to shoot The Dark Knight Rises.

Academy Award-winning cinematographer Wally Pfister is best known for his work on Christopher Nolan’s films, including Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight, and Inception. Pfister is also known for his work on director F. Gary Gray’s The Italian Job and Bennett Miller’s Moneyball.

Wally Pfister shared stories about his path to success, and took questions from the audience during his Keynote Q&A. He then also presented CMF’s Golden Tripod Award for Cinematography at CMF Hollywood’s 2012 Awards Ceremony.
